18 November 2018: Pouring the concrete and building the scaffolding

This week it was a very busy week on our site. There were concrete mixers and scaffolders!

On Monday some very big concrete mixers arrived on site with concrete for the foundations. Thank you to our neighbour Mike for the photos!

There was a big lorry with a folding crane on the back 🏗 that pumped the concrete onto the foundation. The builders spread the concrete out with a long stick.

On Tuesday the builders polished the concrete with something called a power floater. It looked like a lawnmower!

The time lapse video below shows all the concrete being poured during the day. We counted 6 concrete mixers arriving on site!

On Tuesday and Thursday the scaffolding was put up – it was VERY tall! Here is a video from Thursday.

On Sunday it was a sunny morning but very cold! We went to see the finished scaffolding. Mummy took a picture of Holly and me – we looked very small compared to the big scaffolding!

Next week the timber frame will be arriving on our site on a big lorry.
